Natural hair and wigs (women's month)

Image
Happy new month everyone. Personally I love the month of March because I get to celebrate what it means to be a woman, I get to connect with powerful, strong and phenomenal women. As I celebrate the women’s month, I want to discuss a topic which got me thinking for sometime now. It is quite a controversial (I think) and very interesting topic. The issue of African black women, their own hair and wearing wigs and weaves. This is how it all started; last year around May/June when my Barcroft tv documentary was out I received a lot of support and feedback from people all around the world. Thank you so much. If you have not watched the video, check it out here  At some point I was on youtube checking the comments which was nerve wrecking for me but I had to because I wanted to see people’s feedback so I can plan ahead what people expected from me as a motivator. I came across a comment which I found interesting and it was along the lines of if I loved myself as I claimed w...

Love you to love others

LOVE YOU TO LOVE OTHERS… In 2016 I met this handsome young man. With his perfectly chiseled body and mesmerizing deep-set eyes, who was I to resist this Adonis! Being with him was bliss except for those dark days where I would sink into the deep dark abyss of feeling worthless and underserving. It happened often too!! For instance, I hated going out with him. Every time we went out, I was very aware of the fact that I was different and hated it. Seeing the beautiful  girls with evenly toned and shaped legs in heels got me into a space where I was convinced that he was checking them out and must surely want them.  “He must me staying with me out of pity,” I would think Needless to say, most of our well-intended outings always ended with me picking a fight and us fighting. Each time we fought, a piece of “us” got chapped away and we were never the same. It was no wonder that “Adonis” and I broke up in 2018! Looking back in hindsight, I have learnt that in that rel...

Hello t-w-e-n-t-y f-i-v-e 1.     It’s okay to be different Growing up the society always reminded me that I was ‘different’. I always felt uncomfortable whenever people stare at me. I wish someone could have told me that I am unique and beautiful in my own way. I am all kind of beauty. I am a miracle, I am a wonder, I am a force that should never be ignored , a powerful one hahahahaha!! 2.     Enjoy each moment/ stage of your life Guys this life was given to us to enjoy it, not just enjoy but enjoy in abundance. It is good to plan for the future, have plans but it is equally important to enjoy each and every day as it comes. 3.     Focus on the positive energy in your life Negativity is part of life, it is always there. The choice is yours where to put your energy. As for me positivity all the way. 4.     Comparison is the thief of joy In life there is always someone intelligent, smart, taller, r...
