My life hacks
Hello guys
Life can be so difficult sometimes that we find ourselves drowning even with the simplest tasks. This can be as a result of a hectic life or due to physical limitations that we might have. Living with a disability has taught me to take time to understand my body more and being able to accept that I cannot do some things by myself. So today I am going to share with you guys my life hacks as a girl living with a disability. These are things that have made my life so easier for the last 23 years of my life. So sit back, relax and enjoy.
Grab some coffee, I am about to spill the tea 😫, my 7 life hacks
NB: These tips are not only for people with disabilities but anyone can use them if you find them useful in your lifestyle.
1. The hanger
Yes I said it the hanger. It is not everytime I have the privilege of finding the most accessible doors that i can reach the handles. Remember I am very short. Most of the time i find a hanger to be very useful to open doors or reach anything. I also use it when I am doing my laundry to reach my clothes in the washing machine. Literally a HANGER is my life saver.
2. Hair tie
The way I love love winter, but it always made me feel very uncomfortable because of the long sleeve jackets, jumper, tops etc. Whenever, I wore a long sleeve top it limited the way i function throughout the day because the sleeves kept on falling off. That is history now, i found my perfect life saver, the hair tie. It makes it easier for me to tightly grip the sleeves of my clothes. Lol you should have seen the reaction on people's faces when i go into a store to buy hair ties when i used to have short, priceless!!!
3. Flip up cap or pump bottles
When i buy my lotions, I always go for flip up caps or pump because they are so much easier for me to open. I do not usually go for screw on because for me to open it i have to sit first which is not always practical especially when I am in a public place.
4 Structured Handbags
I always go for structured handbags because they are easy for me to reach stuff so quickly. I hate it when I am in the public trying to get something in my bag and I struggle just because the bag is not well structured.
5. Flip up wallet/purse
When I buy wallets I always go for flip up wallets rather than the ones with a zipper. The flip up are so quick and easy. I hate it when I am in a shop and I am trying to open my wallet (its always a struggle with a zipper one) and everyone is waiting in a line waiting for me.
6. Leather belt watches
It is no lie that a watch add "that thing" to an outfit. A watch just makes you look well put together. I have always wanted to wear a watch but i did not know what goes well with my arms till I realised the magic 😁 LEATHER BELT WATCHES. They do not fall off my hands, they grip to my arm so well.
7. Stretchy clothes
When i buy clothes I usually go for a stretchy material because it is easy to put on and take off for me. Especially pants, skirts and shorts. Nobody is here to spend 3 hours in the bathroom because I am struggling to take off my pants just to pee 😁 (Lol excuse that)
